T&T Customs XJ Unibody Stiffeners
Unibodied vehicles have been around for more than 30 years and the problem of unibody flex/twist dates back to early muscle cars and tire-jerking launches down the race track on slicks. A unibodied vehicle doesn't have the regidity necessary to keep the vehicle from twisitng and as a result, those launches cause the front to get bent out of shape and the result is a loss of traction. The solution used to cure this problem was a sub-frame which dispursed the joining point of the frames and unibodies of these still popular muscle cars.
Though most 4x4 owners aren't racing, they are putting their rigs through the twister each time they pull a front tire up on a boulder or parking block at the mall. Cherokees were originally designed to do the mall crawl in questionable weather not to climb a 30 waterfall. As a result, the unibody will flex and eventually get bent out of shape causing issues with door fitment, creaking and groaning while driving, and many other less than pleasent issues. We've dug up an old trick and brought it to the XJ world. Using our Unibody Stiffeners by themselves you can establish a sub-frame where there never has been one. Adding our Bellypan with transfercase mount completes the subframe into the closest you'll ever get to a frame in your XJ.
Welding required during installation. Product ships bare metal and stiffeners are sold in pars (left and right). They are built to order and can take 1-2 weeks to ship. Stiffeners were designed to work with the T&T Customs Y-Link(tm) radius arm kit and Heavy Duty Sliders.
